Hello!
I’m testing out Certify Certificate Manager, but I have no clue what the difference is.
We utilize Sectigo Enterprise via InCommon, and our certificates are all OV, so which should I use? I read the docs but they seem to be either a bit lacking in this area or I couldn’t find anything explaining what the various differences are and what exactly the registration process does?
Thank you for any information you can provide.
Hi,
The app has a set of suggested CA configurations built-in and they vary by the Sectigo ACME API endpoint they point to and that will depend on the Sectigo certificate/service type you have with Sectigo:
The ones defined in the app are:
Sectigo.com (DV certificates)
https://acme.sectigo.com/v2/DV
Sectigo.com (OV certificates)
https://acme.sectigo.com/v2/OV
Sectigo.com (EV certificates)
https://acme.sectigo.com/v2/EV
Sectigo.com (Enterprise certificates)
https://acme.enterprise.sectigo.com
Sectigo can advise which is the right ACME endpoint for your certificate product.
You can also setup your own custom CA definitions if you need to point to a different service/url: Certificate Authorities | Certify The Web Docs

Once you know which ACME service to connect to, and it’s defined as a CA in the app settings, you would add a new ACME Account against that CA (using External Account Binding credentials under the Advanced tab of the New Account dialog).
Once you have an account added you can either set that as the default CA to use, or you can configure individual managed certificates to use different CAs (Certificate > Advanced > Certificate Authority)
